Pumpkins for my pumpkins!

I have a relatively new found love for carving pumpkins.  Last year was the first time I had really sat down and carved pumpkins and wasn't bitterly cold or two young to really get the idea.  Since we had so much fun last year we decided to have some friends over to carve pumpkins together.  Here are some of the finished products...

Fresh Mountain Air...

That is just what I needed.  The last few months have been a little rough with Zach.  He doesn't sleep. Ever.  The most we have gotten him to sleep is 2-3hours between 8pm-12am on a few nights.  Then, from midnight on he is up at least every 30-45minutes.  This has been going on since July. Seriously.  We have taken him to the doctor several times and been told he has GERD, severe reflux that is painful and causes him to wake up all the time.  He is overall a very happy baby, but you can tell when he doesn't feel good.  So, we finally broke down and decided to put him on the medicine for his reflux after tying multiple diet and schedule changes with no success.  We were told it takes about two weeks to work and yesterday marked the two week point.  Last night he slept almost 12 hours and only woke up twice for his pacifier (next battle) and once to be fed.  It was amazing to get so much sleep and I'm sure he feels great too!  Now, we will see if this lasts...

Anyway, we spent this last weekend in beautiful Estes Park and had such a great time.  Even though Zach didn't sleep, it was so nice to have the family together and have a break from everyday life that consists of lots of time at work for Danny, school and photography for me, volunteering at Anna's school and loving our sleepless baby.

It's fall!

Rock Climbing

Anna went to the climbing wall at our gym for the first time the other day and absolutely loved it. She is  very good and has no fear of going all the way to the top. Zach had fun holding on to her leash and trying to eat the rubber pellets at the bottom.

Las Bonitas Alpaca Ranch

This post has been a long time in the making.  We went to our good friend's alpaca ranch for dinner, drinks and dancing (mostly Anna) and had an amazing time.  I am a little behind as this was the beginning of August... Oh well, better late than never.  The alpacas had just been sheared so we are hoping to go back when they are... Fluffy? Wooly?  When they are not bald?   Anyway, be sure to check them out at http://www.lasbonitasalpacas.com

10 Months Old

Wow, time flies!!  Zach is 10 months old today.  He still loves to eat, gets into everything and is now pulling himself up on things in preparation for walking.  Oh boy. Walking, I have to admit that I am kind of dreading the learning to walk stage. It is so cute to watch these little people grow and get around but Zach is naughty curious.  He gets into anything and everything.  We have had to change his diet to soy and gluten free in an effort to calm his tummy enough to sleep. We went more than a month with him waking up every 30-45minutes in pain because his poor little tummy hurt.  We are doing much better, but he still gets up 2-3 times a night. I will be glad when he is back to a good night routine and lets us get some much needed sleep.  Despite the lack of sleep, he is such a happy boy and is starting to say words like Mama, Dada, uh oh and up.  SO CUTE!

Costume Party!!

I love, love, love this time of year for so many reasons. The crisp air, beautiful colors, pumpkin spice lattes, but most of all, I love watching the kids as they get so excited to get dressed up.  A great friend got married today and hosted a fantastic costume party reception.  As the bride walked in Anna looked at me and said, "Mama, she is the most beautiful lady I have ever seen!"  And if you are reading this pretty lady, she has continued to talk about how beautiful you looked. And you did. Absolutely stunning.

I saw it only fitting to have family themed costumes... We have a lion, leopard, monkey and of course the Zookeeper.
